Guys Dress Guidelines
- Shorts: While standing, place your fist at the top of your kneecap; shorts should come to your wrist or below.
- Tank Tops and Cut-off’s: Not appropriate for every day camp wear. You can wear a manufactured sleeveless shirt. The arm hole should not plunge down the side.
- A tank top (regular tank top is fine for lake) or t-shirt need to be worn to and from the lake.
- You do not need to swim with a shirt.
- Evening service wear: Shirts should be a step above a T-shirt.
- Styles worn to evening services should not be intended for the waterfront, athletic events/exercise, or bedtime.
- Ironwood reserves the right to ask any summer staff to change his/her outfit if, in the estimation of the staff, the outfit is too immodest, too feminine/masculine, or too suggestive.
- Anything skintight does not count as covered but can be worn as a base layer. For morning chapels, regular camp dress is acceptable.
- Be sure to pack a few work outfits that can get dirty or stained.
- We encourage you to pack a hat, flip flops, and a good pair of tennis shoes.
- The kitchen asks that their staff wear long pants (not workout pants), t-shirts, and no sleeveless shirts. They also require closed-toed, closed-heel shoes.
- Shirts, pants, and shorts should not be tight.
- Clothing should not have an over-worn or grunge look.
- Please be wise in the graphic t-shirt choices you make. Depending on the cultural relevance/significance, Ironwood might ask you to not wear a graphic t-shirt. Any shirts with music bands, suggestive language, inuendo, or immodest image will be requested that you don’t wear.
- Hair styles should be off the ears and collar. Facial hair…Mr. Sam will give you guidelines during staff training
Our desire is for you to have a classic, professional appearance. If you are on the game field playing a game, dress appropriately. If you are in the evening service, dress appropriately. We know these guidelines may not be your personal preference, but we do our best to communicate the expectations so we can serve our churches well this summer. We also want to be clear so you know how to pack for the summer!
